Frequency and Voltage Regulation in Hybrid AC/DC Networks

Hybrid ac/dc networks are a key technology for sustainable electrical power systems, due to the increasing number of converter-based distributed energy resources such as solar or wind. In this article, we consider design control schemes hybrid networks, focusing especially on interlinking converters (ILCs). We present two schemes: first decentralized primary and second controller achieve secondary objectives well. case, stability controlled system is proven in general network, which may include asynchronous ac subsystems. Furt hermore, it demonstrated that sharing across network significantly improved compared previously proposed dual-droop control. The scheme guarantees convergence frequencies average dc voltage each subsystem their nominal values. An optimal allocation also achieved at steady state. applicability effectiveness algorithms verified by advanced simulations test Simscape Power Systems.
